Michel Baehr was born on November 25, 1890 in Belfort, in eastern France. He comes from a Jewish family. He moved to Île-de-France in his youth and married on December 18, 1929 with a woman named Henriette . They had two children, Michel (1936) and Jean-Claude (1941). It would appear that they were residing in Paris when they were arrested, given the relatively recent birthplace of the two children. They were interned for a while at the Drancy internment camp. Michel had the number 6345 . They were then deported to Auschwitz on December 7, 1943 and none of them returned.
