Isaac Abovici was born on March 16, 1880 in Bucharest, Romania. His parents are called David and Alta Abovici and his brother Haïm. The latter will also be deported by convoy 61 of October 28, 1943 and will not return.
Isaac practiced the profession of dental surgeon before being arrested in Cavaillon (in the Vaucluse) where he lived at 12, avenue de la Gare.
According to the notes in the Drancy excavation notebook, at the time of his arrest, Isaac had a gold man's signet ring engraved with the initials EA (to whom did it belong? Apparently neither to him, nor to his father or to his brother).
He was interned at Drancy under registration number 8969 then deported to Auschwitz on December 7, 1943 by convoy 64.
I have not found a registration number corresponding to him, so it is very possible that he will be taken directly to the gas chambers on his arrival. In any case, he will not come back from the camps.
