Léon Aronowicz (or Szyje Lajb Aronowicz) was born in Karminek, Poland on February 24, 1902. He is the son of Lajzer and Sysa Aronowicz.
He lived for some time in Brussels, a city in which he married Michla Seiler. Together, they will have a daughter, Nina, who was born in November 1932.
I cannot say when for the moment, but he immigrated to France and settled in the town of Palavas-les-Flots, on the shores of the Mediterranean.
He then worked as an optician.
Unfortunately, he was arrested by the Gestapo in 1942 when he was 31 years old.
He will first be interned in the Rivesaltes camp then transferred to Drancy where he will bear the registration number 8743 . On December 7, 1943 around noon, he boarded convoy 64 bound for Auschwitz.
He will not return from the camps and I have not found a corresponding registration number in the Auschwitz archives. It is therefore very likely that he was not selected for the job when he arrived.
